Eurovision Eurovision 2021 Ukraine

Ukraine: This is the expert panel that will select Go_A’s entry for Rotterdam 2021

The Ukrainian public channel has revealed the members of the jury that will choose the song that Go_A will sing at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 next May in Rotterdam.

According to the rules of the national selection, whose reception of songs ends today, the representatives of Ukraine in Eurovision 2021, the group Go_A, shall present at least two songs. The winning composition will be selected by a professional expert panel appointed by the broadcaster UA:PBC.

The jury that will choose the song of Go_A for Eurovision 2021 is made up of Ukrainian artists and renowned experts in the country’s music industry. They are:

  • Jamala, singer and winner of Eurovision 2016.
  • Yevhen Filatov, producer and lead singer of The Maneken.
  • Ruslan Quinta, music producer and composer.
  • Yaroslav Ledygin, member of the Public Broadcasting Board and head of the television section.
  • Dmytro Khorkin, member of the Public Broadcasting Board and head of the radio section.

Yaroslav Ledygin, a member of the direction board of the Public Broadcasting Platform, has said in this regard: “I think that it will be somewhat difficult for Go_A to prepare some songs for the jury because there is great pressure on the creative team to at least repeat the success of the song that won the last year’s national final for Eurovision 2020. “

The jury will be the one who will determine with which song the band Go_A will perform for Ukraine in Eurovision. Each member of the jury will evaluate the songs presented with scores from 1 to 5. The points of each member of the jury will be added to a scoreboard, so the composition that receives the most points from the jury will be the winning one. The results of this voting will be announced no later than March 10th.

Go_A won the Ukrainian national selection for Eurovision 2020 with the song ‘Solovey’, but as the other participants, they couldn’t reach the big stage in Rotterdam due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Luckily for them, they’re among the candidates that have been given a second chance by their broadcaster. Since they were selected, they haven’t stopped working on their song, which will probably follow the line of their previous entry, a dark techno track that brings again something new to the Eurovision Song Contest.
