The public broadcaster Radio Televizija Crne Gore (RTCG) has announced that Mija Vujović will represent Montenegro at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026, whose 24th edition will take place on Saturday, 24 October, at the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre in Ta’ Qali, Malta.
At just 9 years old, the young artist from Podgorica has been internally selected following an outstanding career in children’s music festivals across Montenegro and the Balkan region, where she has earned numerous awards thanks to her vocal abilities, stage presence, and connection with audiences.
For its part, RTCG has confirmed that the song with which Mija Vujović will compete at Junior Eurovision 2026 will be revealed in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the young artist will make her first public appearance as Montenegro’s representative on 3 August, when she takes part in the public broadcaster’s summer programme ‘Više od ljeta’.
With its participation in Ta’ Qali 2026, RTCG reaffirms its commitment to providing an international platform for the country’s young talents and to continuing to promote Montenegrin music and creativity to millions of viewers across Europe.
Mija Vujović’s entry will mark Montenegro’s fourth participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. After a decade-long absence, Montenegro returned to the competition in 2025 with Asja Džogović, who competed with “I Tužna I Srećna Priča”, finishing in 17th place.

Mija Vujović is currently a student at the British School in Podgorica and is fluent in both English and French. Music, dance, and the arts have been an integral part of her life from a very young age. In addition to singing and dancing, she also expresses her artistic side through drawing, painting, and recitation.
Montenegro’s representative is a member of the children’s choir Zvjezdice, and this year she also took part as a performer in the educational audiovisual project Razglednica Podgorice za djecu, created by Ljubo Jovović.
Despite her young age, Mija Vujović has already built an impressive list of achievements. In her debut at the international festival Dok teče Lašva, she won first prize for Best Performance, an award she followed up a year later by earning second prize in the same category. She has also been recognized for her stage performance at the festival Naša radost and received the Professional Jury Award at Zlatna pahulja 2025.
Among her most recent achievements is second prize for Best Performance at the Ta se pesma ljubav zove festival, held in Kikinda, Serbia, where she was also honoured by the children’s jury and the children’s choir Čuperak.
