Two major entertainers with strong Melodifestivalen credentials will host Sweden’s big national celebration on SVT in 2027. When Oscar Zia and Björn Kjellman join forces as hosts, it will be the first time they have hosted the show together. For Björn Kjellman, it will be his first time in the role, while Oscar Zia has hosted the competition twice before (2021, 2022).
Björn Kjellman, who has Melodifestivalen practically in his muscle memory, sees the assignment as a great honor.
“If you’ve spent an almost unnatural amount of time on Melodifestivalen and Eurovision, in the nerdiest way imaginable, then this is obviously the most fun assignment you could get. And doing it with such a smart and funny guy as Oscar is perfect. I’m a huge fan of his. Getting to host Sweden’s funniest and biggest TV show is simply an honor”

Oscar Zia is also looking forward to taking on the hosting duties with his new colleague.

Oscar Zia, born on October 10, 1996, in Holmeja in Svedala Municipality, has participated as a backing vocalist for Behrang Miri in Melodifestivalen in 2013, and as a performer in 2014 and 2016. He made the transition to becoming a television host in 2021, when he co-hosted the second semi-final together with Anis Don Demina.
In 2022, he was announced as the sole host of the entire Melodifestivalen.. He hosted the shows with the support of Farah Abadi as a reporter and various sidekicks.
John Björn Sture Kjellman born on June 4, 1963, in Östra Grevie, Scania. He played roles in Swedish movies such as Adam & Eva, Klassfesten and Livet är en schlager, in which he plays a Melodifestivalen-obsessed transvestite who is brother to Helena Bergström’s character, who takes part in the Melodifestivalen in the movie.
Kjellman participated in Melodifestivalen 2006 with the song “Älskar du livet”, and reached the final where it ended up 9th.
