Interesting result facts

• For the second time in history, both entries that went directly to the final had more than one female songwriter. This also happened in the third heat of 2024, where Cazzi Opeia and Jacqline advanced to the final. Saga Ludvigsson‘s entry was written by Lisa Desmond and Saga Ludvigsson (along with Herman Gardarfve), while SCARLET‘s entry was written by, among others, the artists themselves.

• The duo SCARLET secured one of the final spots from the heat. Just like in the concluding heat of the previous year, the lineup ended with a duo, both times advancing directly to the final. In heat 5 of 2024, Marcus & Martinus and Medina advanced, marking the first time that two duos reached the final from the same heat. Like Medina’s silver-winning entry in 2024, SCARLET had the last starting position in the final heat. The entry in this position has won Melodifestivalen in 26% of cases since 2002.

Arwin advanced to the Final Qualification round from the historically weak starting position of number 2, meaning that the entry in this position placed in the upper half of the results list in most of the 2025 heats. In the first heat, Maja Ivarsson went directly to the final from starting position 2, and in the fourth heat, Ella Tiritiello reached the finalkvalet round from the same position.

Dolly Style is celebrating ten years since the group first appeared in Melodifestivalen 2015, and they have now reached the final for the first time. Of the group’s previous three entries, two advanced to Andra chansen (the Second Chance round), while one—“Habibi” (2019), which later became their most-played song—was eliminated in the heat stage.

• For the first time since Malou Prytz’s “I Do Me” (2019), a song with three or more female songwriters has reached the final. Dolly Style’s entry “YIHAA” was written by Caroline Aronsson, Mikaela Samuelsson, and Melanie Wehbe, along with Herman Gardarfve, Patrik Jean, and David Lindgren Zacharias.

Meira Omar‘s spot in the final meant that songwriter Dino Medanhodzic, based on starting positions, reached the final with 12 consecutive entries between 2019 and 2025—a new record. He surpassed Jimmy “Joker” Thörnfeldt, who had 11 consecutive entries advance to the final between 2022 and 2024.

• In this year’s final, only one of the twelve entries (KAJ) has Swedish lyrics, which amounts to just 8%. Meanwhile, nine entries across the entire festival were in Swedish, making up 30%. Having only one Swedish-language song in the final ties the lowest record, previously set in 2019, 2020, and 2024. From 2021 to 2023, three entries in each final were in Swedish. In 2024, Medina was the only act to perform in Swedish in the final and finished in second place.
