Miriana Conte to Represent Malta at Eurovision 2025 with “Kant”

Malta has chosen its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025Miriana Conte has won the Malta Eurovision Song Contest (MESC) 2025 with her song “Kant”, securing her spot in Basil, Switzerland, where she will compete on May 13, 15, and 17.

The MESC 2025 Grand Final was broadcast live on TVM, featuring 16 finalists who delivered outstanding performances in hopes of winning the ticket to Eurovision.

After an intense voting process, Miriana Conte emerged victorious, winning both the jury and public vote. Despite strong competition from Kristy Spiteri, who was the jury’s favorite, Conte secured 182 points in total, becoming Malta’s new Eurovision representative and following in the footsteps of Sarah Bonnici (Eurovision 2024).

Miriana Conte’s “Kant” triumphed with 182 points, receiving 94 points from the public and 88 from the jury. Meanwhile, Kristy Spiteri led the jury vote with 102 points, but lower televote support left her in second place.

📺 MESC 2025: Format and Voting System

The Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 followed a new, streamlined format compared to previous editions:

• 24 participants competed in two semifinals.

• 16 finalists were selected through a jury and televote combination.

• The Grand Final winner was chosen using a 50/50 voting system, where a jury panel of nine experts and the Maltese public decided the final result.

In addition to the winner’s trophy, awards were presented to the top three contestants.

🚑 Miriana Conte Involved in Car Accident Following Victory

Just hours after her victory, Miriana Conte was involved in a traffic accident on Mdina Road in Attard while traveling to her first official commitments as Malta’s Eurovision 2025 representative.

The incident, which occurred around 10:30 AM, left the singer in shock, requiring hospitalization. Fortunately, she did not sustain serious injuries, and the driver of the vehicle, a 40-year-old man from Birkirkara, was also unharmed.

While the circumstances of the accident remain unclear, fans and supporters have taken to social media to send their well wishes to the Maltese singer. Updates on her health and upcoming commitments are expected in the coming days.

🇲🇹 Can Malta Qualify for the Eurovision 2025 Grand Final?

Malta last qualified for the Eurovision Grand Final in 2021, when Destiny’s “Je Me Casse” secured 7th place. Since then, the country has struggled to advance beyond the semifinals.

With Miriana Conte and “Kant”, Malta hopes to return to the Grand Final in Basel and achieve a strong Eurovision 2025 result.
