Singers without a song can send an audio clip in which they present themselves and during which they cover a song, to the Luxembourgian national broadcaster, RTL, until July 16th 2023.

Reasons for Luxembourg’s return

There are several reasons why Luxembourg decided to return to the contest, and it is clear that the grand duchy is making its return its priority. The Prime Minister of the country, Xavier Bettel, stated that returning to the contest will raise Luxembourg’s international profile and that it will develop the country’s creative and musical industry. Next to this, Bettel said that Luxembourg is fully ready to host the contest of 2025, if necessary.

EUROVISION 2023

This year’s contest is won by Sweden’s Loreen with the song “Tattoo”. Loreen’s win marks the first time a female singer has won the Eurovision Song Contest twice, since Loreen also won the 2012 song contest with the song “Euphoria”, which is one of the most successful songs in Eurovision history. Next to this, Loreen is the second singer to win the contest twice; Irish Johnny Logan came before her.
