Luxembourg in the contest

In May this year it was announced that Luxembourg will return to the contest in 2024, and last month (June), this confirmation was established even further. The participation of Luxembourg in the contest in 2024 will mark the first time the grand duchy participates since 1993. The country competed in the very first contest back in 1956 in Lugano (Switzerland), and became one of the most successful countries in the contest, with 5 wins under its belt. In 1993 Luxembourg withdrew after a series of bad results. The last time Luxembourg wanted to compete again dates back from 2014.

Luxembourg is going to find its next representative through televised live shows. More on the matter you can read here on esc-plus.com whenever there are updates.

This year’s contest is won by Sweden’s Loreen with the song “Tattoo”. Loreen’s win marks the first time a female singer has won the Eurovision Song Contest twice, since Loreen also won the 2012 song contest with the song “Euphoria”, which is one of the most successful songs in Eurovision history. Next to this, Loreen is the second singer to win the contest twice; Irish Johnny Logan came before her.
