Sweden: First Melodifestivalen 2015 participant revealed!!!

Kalle Johansson with “Den dar dän” has became the winner of Svenkstoppen Nästa 2014 and directly qualifies to the Melodifestivalen semi-finals. 130 artists have taken part in the selection process across Sweden but only 8 contenders have competed at today’s final:

  •  Bullock Hearts – Bells & Whistles
  • Stephanie Quint – If forever means forever
  • Last Trees – Ways of Growing Old
  • Kalle Johansson – Den där dan
  • Elsa Martinsson – Alive
  • Morgan Färm – Honung
  • Rebecca Fredriksson – When The blackbirds sing
The final has had two heats, eight finalists have performed their songs during the first one while the two best rated have competed in the second heat: Kalle Johansson & Bullock Hearts. The public televote has decided the final winner: Kalle Johansson.


Svensktoppen nästa is a summer contest which has been held since 2008 annually. Since 2012 the winner has been offered a place in the Swedish National Final for Eurovision. Teresa Fred Wall and Eko were the first artist to compete at Melodifestivalen after winning this contest in 2012 and 2013 respectively.

According to the EBU rules, the winning song will not be allowed to participate in Melodifestivalen as all songs competing at National Finals may not have been released publicly before 1st September of the year preceding.

The group EKO won the competition last year, although they didn´t pass the semi-final.
