Who is PARG? Armenia’s Eurovision 2025 representative

Pargev Vardanyan, known artistically as PARG, is an Armenian singer-songwriter born in Hayravank. He began his musical journey in his local church choir at the age of six. Later, his family moved to Volgograd, Russia, where he studied Theatre Arts and Performance at the Volgograd State Institute of Theatre and Cinema.

During his time in Russia, he co-founded the band The Edge Chronicles, touring across Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, and Armenia between 2017 and 2019. After returning to Armenia in 2022, he performed as the opening act for French singer Zaz at the HAYA Festival in Yerevan. Since then, he has covered songs by Rosa Linn and collaborated with Brunette. His single “Araj” was nominated at the Armenian Music Video Awards 2024, and his latest release, “Kanchum Em”, has received widespread critical acclaim.

Depi Evratesil makes a comeback

The return of Depi Evratesil marks a strategic shift for Armenia, as the country seeks to enhance its Eurovision presence by reintroducing an open national selection format. This method, last used between 2017 and 2020, has been instrumental in discovering emerging talents, although it has yielded mixed Eurovision results, with an 18th place in 2017 and non-qualification in 2018.

In Eurovision 2024, Armenia was represented by Ladaniva with the song “Jako”, a vibrant fusion of traditional Armenian sounds and contemporary energy. The entry secured 3rd place in the semifinal with 137 points and finished 8th in the Grand Final with 183 points (101 from the jury and 82 from the televote).
