Norway has revealed its 18 acts for Melodi Grand Prix 2024, the Norwegian national final. The reveal was done by the Norwegian public broadcaster, NRK, in their studios in Norway’s capital, Oslo. The reveal was hosted by this year’s MGP presenters, Marion Ravn and Frederik Solvang.
What is the set-up of this year’s Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix?
The set-up of this year’s Melodi Grand Prix is as follows: There are three semi-finals on January 13th, 20th, and 27th, and eventually there is a national grand final on February 3rd 2024. Of each semi-final the three acts with the most points will proceed to the Norwegian grand final. The votes will be cast through the special NRK app, so there will be only public voting.

Are there familiar Eurovision names in the line-up of Melodi Grand Prix 2024?
Yes, this year sees familiar Eurovision names that competed for Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest before. There is Margaret Berger, who competed in 2013, and came in 3rd (of 17) in Semi-final 2, and eventually ended in 4th position (of 26) in the 2013 Grand Final. KEiiNO competed in 2019 and came in 7th (of 18) in Semi-final 2, and ended in 6th position (of 26) in the Grand Final.
Who competed for Norway in Eurovision 2023?
In the contest of 2023 in Liverpool (united Kingdom) Alessandra competed for Norway with the song “Queen of Kings”. Alessandra came in 6th (of 15) in Semi-final 1, and in the Grand Final she took the 5th position (of 26).
