Listen to the entry from Czech Republic “Hope Never Dies”!

The song that will represent Czech Republic has just been released by the broadcaster CT. It is called Hope Never Dies, and will be sung by Marta Jandová and Václav Noid Bárta, who were announced as the representatives on February 1st. They will be hoping to bring the Czechs to their first ever final, after the country failed to qualify on their previous tries in 2007-2009. You can read more about the duo here. The entry is composed by Václav Noid Bárta himself, and written by Tereza Šoralová, while it has been produced by Ondřej Soukup.

The song was chosen by a jury, which consisted of journalist Honza Dědek, talent scout Martin Červinka, editor for Czech radio Jitka Benešová, and musicians Michal Hrůza a Michael Kocáb. One of the members explained, that they have chosen the song, because they believed that it has a very special and nice chorus, plus there’s a lot of pretty surprising modulations. And when they heard it, they thought that if you do this well, it impresses.

Both Marta and Václav has expressed their excitement to represent their country at Eurovision. Marta told to Czech TV, that she had lived in Germany, a country, where Eurovision in very big and everyone watches it, so she knows what a big deal it is to participate. Václav commented that he hopes he and Marta will make Czech Republic proud, and they will help Eurovision get more popular in the country.

Czech Republic will compete in the first half of the second semi final on 21 May.
