Junior Eurovision: Russia will pick 2015 entry through a national selection

Since we learnt yesterday that Russia is still going on in the competition, today the national broadcaster has announced how they will be selecting the act that will fly the colours of their flag in Sofia, next 21st November 2015.

After having chosen Alisa Kozhikina’s Dreamer internally last year, RTR opts for an open and public national selection proccess that will allow kids aged 10-15 to participate in the final show that will be aired at the end of September. All they have to do is meeting the rules of the contest and in order to take part, register on Karusel’s official site from the 1st of August, the date when RTR will open submissions period, which will last until September 10th.

Last time Russia selected by organizing an open format was in 2013 when Dayana Kirillova won the final with Mechtay after being a close runner-up in the 2012 selection.

So far, 14 countries have already confirmed for this year’s Junior Eurovision line-up and we are aware of a few more which could still join the competition in coming weeks. The contest will take place next November 21st live from Sofia’s Arena Armeec and ESC+Plus will be offering you a live coverage from the event.

How excited are you on this year’s edition? Which kind of entry would you like for Russia? Stay tuned for coming updates on it!
