EMMY wins Eurosong with “Laika Party” and will represent Ireland at Eurovision 2025

Ireland has chosen its representative for Eurovision 2025! EMMY has emerged victorious in the Irish national selection, Eurosong 2025, securing the opportunity to fly the country’s flag at the contest in Basel. The final took place on The Late Late Show hosted by Patrick Kielty, where six competing acts battled for the ticket to Eurovision.

EMMY won Eurosong 2025 with a total of 34 points, surpassing strong competition from Samantha Mumba and Bobbi Arlo. Her energetic entry, Laika Party, captivated both the jury and the audience, ensuring her place as Ireland’s next Eurovision hopeful.

Who is EMMY?

EMMY is a 24-year-old Norwegian singer and graphic designer who has made a name for herself in the music industry. She began composing music at the age of seven and gained prominence in 2015 when she participated in Melodi Grand Prix Junior. In 2021, she competed in Melodi Grand Prix with Witch Woods, further establishing herself as a rising star in Norway.

With 1.2 million followers on TikTok, EMMY has built a strong international fanbase. Now, she will bring her infectious energy and unique sound to Eurovision 2025, aiming to secure a strong result for Ireland in Basel. She will compete in the second semifinal on May 15, hoping to advance to the Grand Final.

Ireland made its Eurovision debut in 1965 and has participated 58 times, cementing itself as one of the most successful countries in the contest’s history. The nation claimed its first victory in 1970 with Dana’s All Kinds of Everything and remains tied with Sweden for the most Eurovision wins, boasting seven victories.

In 2024, Ireland saw a resurgence in Eurovision success as Bambie Thug achieved the country’s best result in over a decade. With Doomsday Blue, Ireland finished in 6th place with 278 points, marking its highest-ever score at the contest.
