SVT has posted the rules for composers and writers and they can start submitting their entries on 1st September 2015. By clicking here you can find the rules in English.

“We are very proud and happy that we won Eurovision. Now we are planning on getting another good placing, this time on home ground. As usual, we are looking for songs in different languages, different genres and different styles. Diversity and variation are a bearing part of Melodifestivalen” says Christer Björkman.

Song writers can from Tuesday, September 1st upload their audio files on svt.se/melodifestivalen. The deadline is Tuesday, September 16th at 08:59. Song writers who have never before participated should send their songs to the Public Contest. Song writers who have previously participated should send their songs to the Regular Contest.
Next year’s contest will have 28 competing songs, just as in 2015. A selection jury will pick 14 songs while the rest 14 will be picked by SVT and a team of experts who have been invited by SVT. In the 14 songs that will be picked by SVT, the winner of “Svensktoppen Nästa 2015” will be included however not the song with which he/she won “Svensktoppen Nästa 2015”.
