Yle, Finland’s national broadcaster, has revealed the names of the seven artists competing in UMK 2025—Finland’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. The grand final will take place on 8th February at the prestigious Nokia Arena in Tampere.
The announcement was made during a 45-minute special programme, aired from 18:45 to 19:30 CET. The event was hosted by Jasmin Beloued, one of UMK 2025’s presenters, with co-host Sanni joining her. Jasmin was accompanied in the studio by guests such as Mikko Silvennoinen, Eurovision and UMK commentator in Finnish, and Eva Franz, the Swedish-language commentator.
Additional presenters at the public event included Jenni Poikelus, Jere Pehkonen, and Mika Parikka, known for their work on YleX’s morning show. Katri Norrlin, YleX’s music editor, interviewed fans, while DJ Orion provided the musical backdrop.
International viewers were also catered for, with English commentary by Jaako Oleander-Turja, ensuring fans worldwide could engage with the excitement.

As in previous years, the songs will be released individually along with their music videos on various streaming platforms. Each release will go live at midnight Finnish time (23:00 CET). The schedule begins on 9th January and concludes on 17th January.

UMK 2025: Listen to “Nightmares” by Neea River
“Nightmares” by Neea River is the first song to be released for UMK 2025, marking the start of Finland’s journey to find its Eurovision representative.
Neea River, an independent artist from Nurmijärvi, brings her distinct pop sound to UMK. Inspired by her international aspirations, Neea’s journey began with posting original songs on Instagram, eventually catching the attention of a producer in Los Angeles. This led to collaborations, a soundtrack feature, and a publishing deal with Warner Music Finland.
