Today the Lithuanian national selection for Eurovision will reach its semifinal stage. The first semi-semi final will see 9 candidates compete for a place in the final on February 15th.
For the past three weeks, 36 candidates have competed in the heats of Pabandom iš Naujo! A jury panel and the public decided the 18 participants that will take part in the semifinal phase of the national contest. The first semi-final will feature the following acts:
- KaYra – Alligator
- Viktorija Miškūnaitė – The Ocean
- Baltos Varnos – Namų dvasia
- Rūta Loop – We Came from the Sun
- Gabrielius Vagelis – Tave čia randu
- The Roop – On Fire
- Kristina Jure – My Sound of Silence
- Alen Chicco – Somewhere Out There
- Aistė Pilvelytė – Unbreakable
As in previous editions, the Lithuanian semifinals will be aired pre-recorded. However, the public will be able to vote for their favourites during the shows. Tonight’s jurors have already cast their votes which will be mixed with the ones from the audience at home to decide the 4 qualifiers.
Tonight’s expert panel will be made up of 5 professionals, Ramūnas Zilnys, Andrius Mamontovas, Giedrė Kilčiauskienė, Monika Linkytė and Vaidas Stackevičius. Their results will be revealed at the end of the show to avoid any influence on the public decision.
