Take a deep breath. Draw the curtains. Put that crime thriller down. Because tonight you need to focus your full attention on the final chapter of A Dal 2018.
There’ll be eight acts taking part in the drama – but only one will win the starring role and carry Hungary’s hopes to Lisbon in May.
These are the eight battling for top billing tonight:
- Zsolt Süle: Zöld a május
- Gergely Dánielfy: Azt mondtad
- Gábor Heincz Biga: Good vibez
- Leander Kills: Nem szól harang
- AWS: Viszlát nyár
- yesyes: I let you run away
- Viktor Király: Budapest girl
- Tamás Horváth: Meggyfa
If you’ve followed A Dal 2018 so far, you’ll know what an entertaining and enthralling competition it’s been – with loads of variety, plenty of quality and just the right amount of stuff to make you scratch your head in mystification. So the omens are good that tonight’s really going to deliver a fantastic Final to savour. The fun starts at 20:30 CET.
Some things will be the same tonight: Kriszta Rátonyi and ESC ‘old boy’ Freddie will present the show. (They’re excellent!) And what I like to call the Ultimate Eurovision Jury – Károly Frenreisz, Judit Schell, Miklós Both and Misi Mező – will comment on and critique the acts in a supportive but nicely scary way.
Some things will be different, though: there’ll be two rounds of voting but, in the first, the jury will decide which four entries will advance to the second round. Each of the four jurors will announce all their scores after all the acts have performed, awarding four sets of marks: 4, 6, 8 and 10 (for their favourite act). The second round will then involve a public vote to select the victor.
I’d love to tell you who’s going to win, but I just don’t know! And even if I did, I’d be wrong! So you simply don’t have a choice. Turn it on. Tune in. Take it easy. And enjoy the evening!
For more info, well – that’s what the official A Dal 2018 website is for.
Needless to say, you can watch all of tonight’s action, as it unfolds, on our Multi-Window Live Feedback.
And if you just can’t wait, take another look at each of tonight’s hopefuls and pretend you’re part of the Ultimate Eurovision Jury:
