The Netherlands: Submissions open for Junior Songfestival 2018

AVROTROS has open submissions for their 2018 Junior Eurovision national selection. All interested singers aged between 9 and 14 years can now submit their applications until the 1st of March to have the chance to represent The Netherlands in Minsk.

Applicants should post a YouTube video introducing themselves and singing a cover song. Then, they should send the link to the video along with their personal information through the form available on the official website of AVROTROS.

Will the Dutch broadcaster follow their most recent selection procedure and select the singer(s) and song separately? Back in 2016, AVROTROS announced the end of the original format of Junior Songfestival, in which the participants competed with self-composed original songs. The broadcaster hasn’t revealed further information about the following stages of their national selection yet, so we’ll have to wait and see what’s in their pockets for this year’s edition.

Last year, the boyband FOURCE represented The Netherlands at Junior Eurovision with the song ‘Love Me’. Despite finishing first in the online audience vote, they didn’t manage to win the competition reaching the fourth place.
