There was a lot of speculation among Eurovision fans, but now we know that Marius Bear will fly the Swiss flag in Turin during the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song “Boys Do Cry”.
About the artist
Marius Bear is 28 years of age and comes from Appenzell Innerrhoden in the eastern part of Switzerland. In 2019, Marius won the Best Talent award during the Swiss Music Awards, which gave his career a boost. In the same year he released his debut album “Not Loud Enough”. In 2020, he released a cover of the world-famous Whitney Houston song “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”; Marius performed this song on the comical TV show I Can See Your Voice. This cover soon got a lot of recognition on YouTube.
Last year
Last year Switzerland was represented by Gjon’s Tears and his song “Tout l’Univers“. The song went all the way up to the 3rd place of the scoreboard of the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Eurovision Song Contest 2022
This year’s Eurovision Song Contest will take place on May 10th (Semi-final 1), 12th (Semi-final 2), and on the 14th (Grand Final) in Turin, Italy. Switzerland will compete in the first half of the first Semi-final on May 10th 2022.
