Sweden: SVT opens up for Melodifestivalen 2015 submissions

A few days ago we learned that Kalle Johansson would be the first artist, who will participate in Melodifestivalen 2015, the popular, Swedish national final, after he won the summer contest Svensktoppan Nästa. Now SVT has started the search for the rest of the artists, who will compete in Melodifestivalen, as they have opened up for the submissions.

There are two categories for composers to send their songs in to; the Public Contest category, for composers who haven’t previously released any material, and the Regular Contest category, for those who have had their work published in the past. Both composers from Sweden, as well as outside Sweden can submit their bid. A new rule is that at least 50% of the songs, that are selected must be written by female composers and authors. The submissions period will end on September 16th, at 08.59 am.
