After the poor result scored in Malmö RTVSlo of Slovenia informed ESC-Plus.com that the broadcaster is interested in participating in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, to be held in Denmark. However, an official confirmation is expected in late autumn and plans for a selection procedure will be published afterwards . Recently it has been announced that the national broadcaster will recieve a higher budget for next year from the government, so this means that we might see the return of EMA national selection.
This is a second year in a row when Slovenia has missed qualifying for the Grand Final. The last time was in 2011 when Slovenia managed to qualify with Maja Keuc and the ballad “No one”, finishing 13th on the final night with only 96 points.
