Moments ago, the winner of Söngvakeppnin 2022 was declared and it was decided that Sigga, Beta & Elín will represent Iceland at Eurovision 2022 in May in Turin, Italy.
The winner of Söngvakeppnin 2022 was determined through two rounds of voting. First, a round of voting a jury and the public will vote with the two acts that receive the highest numbers of votes to the Super Final. In the Super Final the Icelandic public will solely determine the winner. The five acts that competed for the Icelandic victory were:
- Katla – “Þaðan Af”
- Amarosis – “Don’t You Know”
- Reykjavikurdaetur – “Turn This Around”
- Stefán Óli – “Ljósið”
- Sigga, Beta & Elín – “Með Hækkandi Sól”
