Cornelia Jakobs to represent Sweden in Eurovision 2022!

Melodifestivalen 2022 has just come to an end after 6 weeks and after an exciting show live from Stockholm’s Friends Arena, Sweden has now selected the act they will send to Turin for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest: it will be Cornelia Jakobs with Hold Me Closer.

The entire show, the four previous heats and a semi-final held by SVT, were hosted by Oscar Zia and Farah Abadi.

The 12 finalists who competed to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 were:

  1. Run To The Hills – Klara Hammarström
  2. Som du vill – THEOZ
  3. Higher Power – Anna Bergendahl 
  4. Änglavakt – John Lundvik
  5. My Way – Tone Sekelius
  6. Bigger Than The Universe – Anders Bagge
  7. Innocent Love – Robin Bengtsson 
  8. Freedom – Faith Kakembo 
  9. Bluffin – LIAMOO
  10. Hold Me Closer – Cornelia Jakobs
  11. I Can´t Get Enough – Cazzi Opeia
  12. In i dimman – MEDINA

A total of twelve acts performed tonight. Eight of them were chosen from four previous heats, whilst the remaining four finalists were chosen from the semi-final last Saturday. The votes collected from the televoting/app voting as well as those awarded by an international jury panel, formed by 8 countries, decided the winner. These were: The Netherlands, Finland, Spain, Australia, Czech Republic, Ireland, Israel and Italy.
