Melodifestivalen 2022 has just come to an end after 6 weeks and after an exciting show live from Stockholm’s Friends Arena, Sweden has now selected the act they will send to Turin for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest: it will be Cornelia Jakobs with “Hold Me Closer”.
The entire show, the four previous heats and a semi-final held by SVT, were hosted by Oscar Zia and Farah Abadi.
The 12 finalists who competed to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 were:

- Som du vill – THEOZ
- Higher Power – Anna Bergendahl
- Änglavakt – John Lundvik
- My Way – Tone Sekelius
- Bigger Than The Universe – Anders Bagge
- Innocent Love – Robin Bengtsson
- Freedom – Faith Kakembo
- Bluffin – LIAMOO
- Hold Me Closer – Cornelia Jakobs
- I Can´t Get Enough – Cazzi Opeia
- In i dimman – MEDINA
A total of twelve acts performed tonight. Eight of them were chosen from four previous heats, whilst the remaining four finalists were chosen from the semi-final last Saturday. The votes collected from the televoting/app voting as well as those awarded by an international jury panel, formed by 8 countries, decided the winner. These were: The Netherlands, Finland, Spain, Australia, Czech Republic, Ireland, Israel and Italy.
