Saara Aalto (UMK 2016) sings in The X Factor UK Grand Final

So last night saw Saara Aalto, who you may remember has tried to represent Finland three times at Eurovision, make it to the Grand Final Top 2, after fellow contestants 5 After Midnight were voted out of the show, polling the least amount of votes at the vote freeze.

Saara sang two songs last night, first a cover of the 1980s classic “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” by Tears For Fears, and you can’t deny the fact that performance and staging was superb. Further proving that she really is Queen of the Night. The second song she sang was her guest star duet with Adam Lambert, when they took on the Queen classic “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

Saara’s journey so far in the contest, has been rocky, for want of a better word. The first two weeks during the live shows she ended up in the bottom 2, not to mention the fact that she only made it to judges houses as she was chosen as one of the wildcard. But tonight we will find out if Saara Aalto will become the latest winner of The X Factor UK, now in its 13th series. She will sing two further songs tonight – “song of the series” – “It’s Oh So Quiet” by Bjork and then her version of the winners single which is yet to be announced. The song is usually a cover version, but their are rumours this year that it is an original track, written by Ed Sheeran. ITV nor The X Factor have released any details as yet. So stay tuned for further details tonight.
