Tonight, RTP held the first of the three shows set to pick the act who will wave the Portuguese flag in Vienna. The show took place from RTP’s headquarters in Lisbon. 6 acts battled out for one of the 3 spots available. All 12 composers from both semifinals were invited by the broadcaster and all the entries were sang in Portuguese language.
Tonight’s line-up looked as it follows:
- Rita Seidi – Lisboa, Lisboa
- Leonor Andrade – Há um Mar que nos Separa
- Filipa Baptista – A Noite Inteira
- Yola Dinis – Outra Vez Primavera
- Gonçalo Tavares – Tu Tens uma Mágica
- Adelaide Ferreira – Paz
Two acts with the highest number of votes from the televoting and one, selected by the jury, made up of the 6 competing songwriters in the second semifinal will have another chance to conquer the hearts of the Portuguese , taking place on Saturday.
- Leonor Andrade – Há um Mar que nos Separa (Televoting)
- Yola Dinis – Outra Vez Primavera (Televoting)
- Gonçalo Tavares – Tu Tens uma Mágica (Jury)
Suzy, who represented the country last year in Copenhagen, performed on stage as the interval act with her entry ‘Quero Ser Tua’. Despite catching the hearts of the fans in the first semifinal, failed to qualify for the grand final.
