Poland confirms Junior Eurovision return, TVP calls for songs!

The Polish public broadcaster TVP has just confirmed its Junior Eurovision participation after a 12 year-break.

Internal changes a few years ago in the leading team of the Polish delegation at TVP and their positive results in former Eurovision editions since they came back, in 2014 with Donatan & Cleo and this year’s TOP 10 final place in Sweden, could have been crucial when taking the decision. Rumours have been transcending throughout the entire summer season but now it looks all clear. TVP just uploaded an official banner to its official Facebook site for both Eurovision and Junior contests, which you can see below:

Submissions can be sent in by artists and songwriters aiming to represent the country in Valletta until the 20th of September to the following e-mail address: [email protected]. The full set of rules and submission form can be found here in Polish.

The broadcaster will internally select the best contenders that will compete in a live final to take place on the 15th of October where the Polish representative will be selected by a mix of jury and public televoting. During the show, called „Krajowe Eliminacje do Konkursu Eurowizja Junior”, all the finalist songs will be presented live on stage.

Poland last participated in the contest back in 2004 with the girlband KWADro and “Łap życie” unfortunately placing last both 2004 and their previous participation in 2003 with Katarzyna Żurawik and “Cos Mnie Nosi”.

This rises up the line-up of this year’s edition to 14 countries. The contest will be held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta on the 20th of November.

Stay tuned for upcoming news about the Polish entry at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest!
