Eurovision Eurovision 2017 Poland

Poland announce national final for February 11 in Warsaw

Polish broadcaster, TVP, have today announced that they will host a national selection show on February 11th 2017 in capital, Warsaw.

It is the second year in a row that Poland have opted for a national final selection in order to find their Eurovision representative. Last year the country chose Michał Szpak for Stockholm, a somewhat controversial choice considering Margaret had been seen as the clear favourite to not only win the national final, but to bring Poland, perhaps, their first Eurovision win. Michael however, went to Stockholm and absolutely shocked many by doing so well in the televote, given Poland their best result since their debut in 1994, finishing 8th overall.

Song submissions will open for the 2017 national final on December 27th until January 20th, after which songs will be chosen to go forward to the final. A mixture of both jury votes and televotes will decide the winner of the national final in February which will ultimately go and represent the country in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Full rules of the selection process will be unveiled next week.
