Netherlands 2023: Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper release their entry “Burning Daylight”

Dutch entrants Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper presented their Eurovision entry, “Burning Daylight”, today in Rotterdam (the Netherlands), the host city of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020/2021. The artists were already presented at the end of last year, but Eurovision fans had to wait for their entry until today.

Our ESCplus International reporter, Denis, was present during this presentation and had the chance to meet the singing duo that will fly the Dutch flag in Liverpool.

The entry “Burning Daylight”

The Dutch entry “Burning Daylight” was co-written by both performers Mia Nicolai and Dion Cooper, but also Dutch 2019 Eurovision winner, Duncan Laurence, and his fiancé, Jordan Garfield.

The release of the 2023 Dutch entry

The release of the 2023 Dutch entry “Burning Daylight” happened on three platforms one after another today; on famous Dutch talk-show “Khalid & Sophie” on NPO 1, one of the Dutch national broadcasters, but also on “Wout2day”, a well-known Dutch radio show, on NPO Radio 2, and international fans could experience the release of the official music video on YouTube.

About Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper

Mia Nicolai is a 26-year old Dutch singer who works and lives in Los Angeles to pursue the American dream in music. Mia plays music since she was three years young. In 2020 Mia’s first single came out; the name of the single was “Set Me Free”.

Dion Cooper is 28 years of age, but he started playing the guitar at age 15. The first EP of Dion came out in 2021 and was titled “Too Young, Too Dumb”.

Eurovision 2023

In the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 the Netherlands will compete in the second half of the first Semi-final.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place on May 9th, 11th, and 13th 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom. This year’s contest is a joint one, since Ukraine won last year, but cannot organize in their home country, because of the ongoing war with Russia.
