Montenegro: RTCG selects Sergej Ćetković for ESC 2014

After several month of rumors and speculations, it’s now official: Sergej Ćetković will indeed represent Montenegro at Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen. It was revealed today at a press conference in the studio of broadcaster RTCG. He will be hoping to bring Montenegro to the final for the first time since their debut in 2007.

The song that Sergej Ćetković will perform in Copenhagen will be written and composed by himself. It will have a very simple staging, but all details have not been decided yet. The song will be made available in more than one language, but it is still not known whether several versions will be released, or if it will just be released as one multilinugal version.

“The song will be a love song and it will have a high quality. We hope for a place in the final, which for me would be a great result.” – Sergej Ćetković told at the press conference.

RTCG will announce the song at a later date.

Sergej Ćetković was born in Podgorica, Montenegro on July 8th 1976 and has been involved with music ever since he was 7 years old. His breakthrough came in 1998 when he participated in the popular Montenegrin festival ‘Suncane Skale’. He has since went on to release 5 albums and have had great succes in both Montenegro and the other former Yugoslavian countries.
