Malta: MESC 2017 to take place in February, PBS calls for submissions!

Maltese Eurovision fans, if you were missing out some fresh news about the plans that your national public broadcaster have for next year’s Eurovision Song Contest, the wait is finally over!

PBS, Public Broadcasting Services, has announced that they will hold another edition of their annual selection, the ”Malta Eurovision Song Contest” (MESC) in early February. Singers aiming to apply the selection just have to send an e-mail to, where they can get the official regulations to participate in the contest. Submissions are accepted at PBS’Creativity Hub headquarters in Gwardmanga on the 30th of November from 9:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 16:00 (CET).

A single show seems to have been set to choose the Maltese entrant flying the colors of Sant George’s cross flag, differing from previous years, where a semi-final show was also staged. 16 songs will participate, all of them announced in December after deliberations taken by an internal panel at PBS. It is still unknown where PBS will host the contest, could it be in Ta’Qali’s MFCC  or the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta, where this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest is taking place in two weeks time?

Time will tell, stay tuned!

About Adrián Valiente (Spain)

I love the Eurovision Song Contest not only because of its amazing production but it also gives me the chance to discover new music every year.
I’ve been watching it since 2002, since then I became a huge follower, mostly because of the interest TVE put on it with Rosa from Spain.
I’ve attended the contest several times in the last few years. I also attended the Junior Eurovision in Malta and Bulgaria where we lived an amazing experience thanks to all delegations and PBS/BNT organising team.
