On Monday (18-12-2023) it was announced that the songs that will compete in the Luxembourg Song Contest 2024 will be revealed in early January 2024. This national contest will decide which artist is going to represent Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö (Sweden).
Tickets for the Luxembourg Song Contest 2024 went on sale on December 18th 2023.
What is the Luxembourg Song Contest?
The Luxembourg Song Contest is the national final of Luxembourg. It is the first time that this format will be used to find Luxembourg’s next entrant. In 2024 it has been 31 years since Luxembourg competed in the contest, so this ministate is giving it their all to do well in the competition in Malmö (Sweden).
The Luxembourg Song Contest will take place on January 27th 2024 at 20:00 in the Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourg). This national contest format is seen as a milestone in Luxembourg, because they never had a music contest of this scale before.

Yes, there is more known about the set-up of the Luxembourg Song Contest. The format will feature eight entrants who will fight it out to become Luxembourg’s next representative in the Eurovision Song Contest. The show will be broadcast live on several online platforms, one of which is naturally ESCplus Live, our own live platform. The show can also be watched on TV and listened to on radio channels. Luxembourg chose the commentary to be in both French and English, since the languages spoken in Luxembourg are German, French, Luxembourgish, and also English, the reason for this is that Luxembourg has many expats working in this country.
The winner of the show will be determined by 50% public votes and 50% (professional) jury votes.

Luxembourg will return in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 after a hiatus of more than 30 years. After the contest of 1993 Luxembourg decided to call it quits, although being successful in the contest for years, but at the end of the 1980’s – beginning of the 1990’s their success came to an end since they had a series of consecutive bad results.
