The national broadcaster of Lithuania, LRT, made the participants of their new national selection format, EUROVIZIJA.LT 2024, public this week. A total of no less than 40 participants were chosen to compete and battle it out to become Lithuania’s next entrant.
What will the EUROVIZIJA.LT format look like?
The EUROVIZIJA.LT format will have five semi-finals and a grand final. This televised show will start on January 13th 2024.
The results of every semi-final will be decided by both a jury in the studio, which will have changing members each week, these votes will count for 50%, and there will be public televotes, also counting for 50%. The jury members of the in-studio jury will not be revealed until each show will be aired each week, and what their votes were will be revealed after the public voting closes. From each semi-final the highest scoring 2 acts will proceed to the national grand final. The semi-finals of EUROVIZIJA will not be broadcast live.
The Lithuanian grand final will be broadcast live on February 15th 2024. From the 10 acts that were chosen during the semi-finals 3 acts will be chosen to proceed to the super final; these 3 acts will be chosen by both the in-studio jury and public voters. The result of the super final will only be made by public voting. The winner of the super final will be the act that will go to the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö (Sweden) for Lithuania.

Does the Lithuanian national final have any returning Eurovision names?
Yes, the Lithuanian national final has several returning Eurovision names, like Andrius Pojavis, who competed in the contest of 2013 with the song “Something”, ending in 22nd place (of 26). There is also The Roop, the band that would have represented Lithuania with the song “On Fire” in the cancelled 2020 contest; they competed in 2021 with the song “Discotheque”, ending in 8th place (of 26).
Eurovision 2023
In the Eurovision Song Contest of 2023 in Liverpool (UK) Lithuania was represented by Monika Linkytė with the song “Stay”. Monika came in 4th (of 16) in Semi-final 1, and eventually reached 11th place (of 26) in the Grand Final.
