Kazakhstan opens submissions for Junior Eurovision 2018 national selection

Khabar has launched a call for songs for their Junior Eurovision 2018 national selection. This is the first time ever Kazakhstan will take part in a Eurovision competition.

All interested singers aged 9-14 can submit their applications from today until the 31st of August, 2018. The candidates have to send their songs meeting the requirements of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest:

  • Euro-pop songs from 2.45 to 3.00 minutes are allowed to enter the competition.
  • The lyrics must include at least 60% of the text in Kazakhstani while up to 40% of the lyrics can be in English
  • The song mustn’t have been made publish before May 1, 2018.

The full set of rules and submission forms can be found on the official website of the broadcaster.

When the application period is closed, a professional jury panel made up of musicians and producers will select the finalists no later than September 7. The winner will be chosen by solely public voting from a live show that will be broadcast on Khabar. A professional jury will approve the public choice and will decide the winner in case of a tie.
