Junior Eurovision: Maša and Lejla to represent Montenegro

Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG has just announced that the country will be represented by the girl duo Maša and Lejla, consisting of Maša Vujadinović (14 years old) and Lejla Vulić (12 years old). Their song will be called Budi dijete na jedan dan (Be a child for a day) and is scheduled to be premiered in the beginning of September. It was written by Sanja Perić i Lejla Vulić, while it was composed by Slaven Knezović, who is a famous composer in the Balkans.

Maša attends the 9th grade at the Pavle Rovinski school in Podgorica, and the 6th grade at the music school Vasa Pavić, while Lejla is in 7th grade at the English language school Knightsbridge school International in Tivat, and she just finished the 5th grade at the Vida Mtijan music school. Both girls have worked with music since they were very young, and have competed in several music festivals as the XFactor Adria 2014 (Maša).

The musical head of department at RTCG, Slaven Knezović, commented the choice:

“I think this a great decision for RTCG, to participate in Junior Eurovision, that is such a fantastic platform for young talent to represent their countries. Maša and Lejla have with their talent, knowledge and experience deserved to do that for us. They are representing a great musical harmony, and at the same time, they are also representing life in Montenegro in their own way, when they perform the song”.
