Sweden: Svensktoppen Nästa 2014 winner to compete at Melodifestivalen 2015

Swedish public broadcaster have announced the eight finalist who will compete at Svensktoppen nästa 2014 which will be held on August 31^st. The winner will have the opportunity to participate in Melodifestivalen 2015. The finalist are:

–          Bullock Hearts – Bells & Whistles

–          Stephanie Quint – If forever means forever

–          Last Trees – Ways of Growing Old

–          Kalle Johansson – Den där dan

–          Elsa Martinsson – Alive

–          Morgan Färm – Honung

–          Rebecca Fredriksson – When The blackbirds sing

Svensktoppen nästa is a summer contest which has been held since 2008 annually. Since 2012 the winner has been offered a place in the Swedish National Final for Eurovision. Teresa Fred Wall and Eko were the first artist to compete at Melodifestivalen after winning this contest in 2012 and 2013 respectively.

According to the EBU rules, the winning song will not be allowed to participate in Melodifestivalen as all songs competing at National Finals may not have been released publicly before 1^st September of the year preceding.
