Today, the Spanish Head of Delegation Ana María Bordás has revealed that RTVE is planning a return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Earlier this year, she stated that they were open to it, but it hasn’t been until today when an official source has confirmed the broadcaster’s intentions online.
This information has been published on the official Twitter account of Eurovision RTVE following Bordás’ statement at Miki‘s Press Conference:

Spain has taken part at Junior Eurovision fourth times making its debut in 2003. A year later, the Mediterranean country achieved its best result, the first place in Norway where María Isabel performed the song “Antes Muerta Que Sencilla”. Moreover, Spain has finished second twice and fourth once.
After its withdrawal, many fans have claimed the participation of Spain at Junior Eurovision starting some campaigns in the country and abroad. There is no doubt that Spain is one of the most missed countries in the competition. Junior Eurovision is even trending topic in Spain every year and OT’s producer is willing to make a junior version of the national contest, as it happened when the country took part in the early 2000s.

Will this be the year when we will see Spain at Junior Eurovision again?
¡Trae de vuelta España! 😀 I miss that country so much, and I keep praying that they return this year. Maybe even bid to host Junior Eurovision 2020? 😀
