Junior Eurovision: Ireland opens submissions for national selection!

A few minutes ago, TG4 has confirmed they will be joining this year’s Junior Eurovision and the national selection process is now open!

TG4, together with Adare Productions, will launch a nationwide search for talent aged 10-15, with the ultimate aim of performing an Irish-language song on the Junior Eurovision stage in November. It will therefore be the first time an Irish language song has been performed on the Eurovision stage since 1972, when Sandie Jones sang “Ceol an Ghrá” at the Eurovision Song Contest.

In a TV entertainment series this autumn, TG4 will be selecting a singer or group of singers and an Irish language song to represent Ireland on the big stage in Europe. The competition is open to all young people resident in Ireland who are aged between 10-15 on the day of the show.

Applicants must be actively involved in the process of writing and composing the original Irish language song but can receive help from adults with experience in this field. A parent or legal guardian must fill out the application form.

Auditions will be held at key venues throughout Ireland. TG4 is now looking for applicants who wish to be selected to audition.
