EBU appoints new voting partner for Junior Eurovision

Rotterdam-based company ‘Sound of Data’ has been awarded the contract to conduct both the televoting and jury voting for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest for the upcoming editions.

The Junior Eurovision Steering Group invited tenders for the competition’s voting platform at the beginning of 2014, and selected Sound of Data after reviewing all submissions.

“The Steering Group was impressed with the vision that Sound of Data presented – not just for this year, but for the longer term on how the televoting can evolve,” said Vladislav Yakovlev, Executive Supervisor of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. “Sound of Data has already presented us with some very exciting ideas as to how we can further develop voting at Junior Eurovision, and we look forward to working with them to bring their ideas to fruition.”

Guido Jongen, Manager for Media Solutions at Sound of Data, added “We are very proud that EBU has chosen Sound of Data as their voting partner for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Our strong focus on international viewer interaction has paid off and has resulted in surprisingly new developments from which EBU will benefit. The first meetings and mutual visits have been very agreeable, which gives us the confidence that we are at the beginning of a very successful cooperation with a lot of future potential.”
