Eurovision Eurovision 2015 Bulgaria

Bulgaria won’t be in Vienna

Bulgaria will miss another edition of Eurovision Song Contest. BNT has confirmed to ESCToday they won’t be taking after having initially submitted the preliminary application part due to financial reasons. They haven’t found the sponsors needed to afford the participation costs.

Bulgaria will take part in the forthcoming Junior Eurovision edition after an agreement between BNT and the private broadcaster BTV which has been in charge of the Bulgarian expenses. According to BNT, they have thought about the same collaboration for the Eurovision edition but nothing has been decided yet. BTV will think about a possibly Eurovision agreement after the Junior Eurovision event to take place on November 15. Could UER extend the deadline to ensure the Bulgarian participation?

Bulgaria has taken part at Eurovision nine times since 2005, they withdrew in 2013 due to financial difficulties. They have only reached the final once, that was back in 2007 with the song “Voda” (Water) performed by Elitsa and Stoyan.
