ESC+Plus has talked to Gušani Brothers, semifinalists of the Finnish national selection for Eurovision. The trio will sing “Poom Poom” in the third semi-final of UMK 2016 set on February 20.

ESC+Plus: Hello! First of all, thank you so much for your time and congratulations on having been selected to take part in the Finnish national selection for Eurovision 2016!

Can you tell us about you, your musical career and important achievements?

We are Gušani – Brothers, born in Croatia. We have lived in Finland for almost 11 years. We started doing music since always. Our parents are also musicians so they have been and are still our support. Our achievements are to bring something totally new to our music.

E+: What impelled you to take part in “UMK 2016”?

We always wanted to perform in big competitions. As children it was our dream

E+: How did you feel when you knew you had qualified for the semi-finals? Did you expect it?

It was really cool to know, we were really happy. We did not expected to be qualified for the semi-finals

E+: What it would mean for you to represent Finland?

To represent Finland would mean a lot for us.

E+: Can you tell us about your song? What is the story behind the lyrics?

We started to produce “Poom Poom” actually in iPad and then we created the melody. Later that night, we went to studio and started to create the “real” version of Poom Poom. The lyrics are actually real because they are meant for a girl.

E+: Why do you think your song has to be selected for Stockholm? What are you strengths to reach the top in the competition?

We have powerful live show and we produce all and everything by ourselves.

E+: Have you started to prepare your stage performance for “UMK 2016”?

Yeah, but let’s keep it as a secret 😉

E+: Do you usually watch Eurovision? What are your favorites songs in the history of the competition?

Of course, since we were really young. Our favorite songs and shows were Euphoria (Sweden) Lordi (Finland ) and Heroes (Sweeden).

E+: If you could choose a Eurovision former participant to sing along with, who would it be?

Hmmm..They are all really amazing singers but we would go with Måns Zelmerlöw and Loreen.

E+: Besides Eurovision, what are your plans for this year?

Our plans are to travel and have a really good summer with our family and friends, but the most important to create new music.

E+: Finally, can you send a message for our readers and Eurovision fans?

We want you to enjoy the life. Believe in yourselves and follow your dreams. LIFE IS BETTER WITH MUSIC!

E+: Thank so for your time and good luck!
