ESC+Plus: Hello guys! First of all congratulations on having qualified for the semifinal of “Supernova 2015”. How did you experience the first show and the announcement of qualifiers?

Hello! Thank you — we are satisfied with what we’ve done so far. And appreciative words and good luck wishes motivate us to go forward.

E+: Can you tell us about you, your musical evolution and important achievements?

United since 2005 we’ve developed our repertoire ranging from classic and jazz to pop and other music genres in original a cappella arrangements. In 2010 we were nominated for “The Debut of the Year” at “The Great Music Award”, the most prestigious Latvian state award in music. 2011 marked collaboration with Grammy Award winning vocal ensemble New York Voices and its artistic leader Peter Eldridge, with whom we met again in June 2012 to perform together in Riga. In summer 2012 we participated in the international contest of young pop singers “New Wave” in Jūrmala, Latvia. After the contest we recorded our first Studio album. In late 2013 we participated in the rock opera “Lacplesis”, giving a massive tour of 26 shows around Latvia. In 2014 we presented Riga as a Culture capital of Europe in 4 concerts in Helsinki Travel exhibition, then we gave 5 concerts around Umea, participating in opening of Umea as a Capital of Culture. And in November we went to a 5 concert tour to China.

E+: Why did you decide to take part at “Supernova 2015”?

We are professional and qualified musicians and we are always ready to represent our country, no matter the genre.

E+: What it would mean for you to represent Latvia in Vienna?

We love Vienna and the culture of this city. And it would be our honour to represent Latvian culture in Vienna and Europe.

E+: Your song is called “Ziemā”. Can you tell us about the song and the story behind the lyrics? How was the composition procedure?

Song was written taking inspiration from the churches of the Old Riga. It’s a song about a close person to whom we have to say goodbye at one.

E+: Have you thought about changing something of your stage performance at semi-final?

We are in the active thinking process regarding our performance in the semifinal.

E+: What are your main strengths to as to get the people and juries support to win the contest?

We are what we are, and whatever will be, will be.

E+: What can this competition contribute to your musical career?

It’s definetely the experience we gain working with the television, great producers and directors.

E+: Do you have any favourite song among the other “Supernova 2015” participants?

Each of us has his/her own favorite, so there are five of them altogether.

E+: Do you usually watch Eurovision? Do you have any favourite song in the history of the contest?

Rūta is the Eurovision fan in our group. The songs from previous shows she remember the best are: Magdi Ruzsa “Unsubstantial Blues”(Hungary, 2007), Maria Serifovic “Molitva”(Serbia, 2007) , Boaz Mauda “Fire in your eyes”(Israel, 2008) un A Friend in London – New Tomorrow (Denmark, 2011).
