SC+Plus has talked to Arbresha, one of the nine lucky artists selected by SRF for the Expert Check phase of the Swiss selection for Eurovision 2015.
ESC+Plus: Hello Arbresha! Firstly, How do you feel after having been selected by SRF for the next stage?
I feel good as usual. Of course I’m excited and a bit nervous. But I feel good!
E+: Why did you decide entering the competition?
Because I wanted to try something new, make a new experience with my music. I wondered if I could make it.
E+: Are you a Eurovision follower or have you seen it before?
No, I have seen some parts of the Eurovision, but I have never seen the whole contest.
E+: Can you tell us about your song “Same stars”?
It’s a love song, which tells a love story, about someone who writes down some lines on a piece of paper. You are my first thought when I wake up, you are my sunshine. Is about someone who is hiding that piece of paper in the room of the one she loves. So these words will be with him forever, even if they’re not together.
E+: There is already much time until the national final but if won the ticket to the show how do you want your performance looks like?
The most important thing for me is to be authentic and real. I don’t know yet about how it would be. I’m very spontaneous.
E+: Can you tell us about your musical career, your professional achievements…?
When I was 8, I played the piano and learned it by myself. I played the saxophone and the guitar. And I started to sing in the school choruses. I really liked to make music. It fulfilled me. When I was 15 I had an Indie Rock band, we played concerts. Then we separated and I started to play music with my best friend. Our band was called “Music is her Boyfriend”. We were in some competitions and we won some of them. But after some years I decided to play music by myself.
E+: Had you published any single before?
Yes, I have other single on Youtube called “Manchester”. That song is about 4 or 5 years old. I made the music video with holiday videos from Kosovo and Albania.
E+: What can this competition contribute to your musical career?
I think it can help me a lot. I can already see that many people are interested in my music and that is great. I love that.
E+: Do you have any favourite song among the other candidates?
Yes. I like Bubble Beatz and Tiziana. She’s really cute. J
