Iceland: Söngvakeppnin 2020 Songs and Participants announced!

Icelandic public broadcaster Ríkisútvarpið, better known internationally as RÚV, has officially announced the performers and songs that will take part at Söngvakeppnin 2020, national preselection that Iceland uses to select its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest.

A total of 157 songs were received this year, which represents an increase of up to 25% compared to the number of songs that entered the competition last year. The Association of Icelandic Musicians, the Association of Composers and Writers and a committee of expert members appointed by the Ríkisútvarpið (RÚV) have been the three bodies responsible for choosing the ten finalists and official participants of the Söngvakeppnin 2020.

  5. Hildur Vala – “Fellibylur”
  6. Isold – “Meet me halfway” / “Klukkan tifar”
  7. Iva – “Oculis videre”
  8. Kid Isak – “Ævintyri
  9. Matti Matt – “Dreyma”
  10. Nina – “Echo” / “Ekko”
