In the past couple of months 600 songs were submitted for the German national final, also known as “Unser Lied für Liverpool” (trans. “Our Song for Liverpool”). Out of these 600 just 9 songs were selected to compete in Germany’s national final, and 1 entry will be chosen through a TikTok challenge.
Unser Lied für Liverpool
This year’s German national final, Unser Lied für Liverpool, will consist of three separate stages. The first stage was all about a professional jury listening and judging all song submissions. The second stage is choosing a 10th competitor through a TikTok challenge; the only thing entrants need to do is upload their performance on TikTok with the hashtag #UnserLiedfürLiverpool. The TikTok entries will be judged somewhere in January of 2023. There is also a chance that there will be more entries chosen through the TikTok challenge.
Further details
Further details about the date, time, place, and the presenters will be announced at the beginning of 2023. The televised national live final is the third part of this year’s German selection.
Eurovision 2022
In the contest of 2022 in Turin (Italy) Germany’s Malik Harris sang “Rockstars”, but he ended last (25th of 25) in the 2022 Grand Final. Because Germany is one of the Big 5 countries of the contest, this country does not have to compete in the Semi-finals.
