San Marino has made its choice! The prestigious San Marino Song Contest 2025 has come to an end, and the winner who will wave the country’s flag at Eurovision 2025 in Basel is none other than Italian DJ and producer Gabry Ponte with his hit “Tutta L’Italia.”
A jury-exclusive decision crowns Gabry Ponte as the winner
A total of 20 artists competed in this year’s edition of the San Marino Song Contest, all vying for the coveted ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Unlike other years, the decision was made exclusively by a professional juryappointed by San Marino RTV. Their votes propelled Gabry Ponte and Andrea Bonomo’s vocals to victory, making them the successors of Megara, San Marino’s 2024 representatives. The Rumpled and TESLENKO rounded out the Top 3.
A spectacular Grand Final featuring Al Bano
The Grand Final of the San Marino Song Contest 2025 kicked off at 20:30 CET, featuring a special guest: Italian music legend Al Bano, who attended for the third consecutive year. He performed two of his iconic songs and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award presented by San Marino’s Secretary of State, Federico Pedini Amati.
Following his performance, the 20 finalists took the stage to perform their songs in a battle for the golden ticket to Eurovision. 11 of them had to go through multiple qualifying rounds, including tough semifinals, while 9 artists were invited directly to the final.
One of these direct finalists was Gabry Ponte, whose song “Tutta L’Italia” gained immense popularity after becoming the official anthem of Sanremo 2025. This momentum helped him secure victory in San Marino.

The jury that decided San Marino’s Eurovision 2025 act
During the official press conference of the San Marino Song Contest 2025, it was confirmed that the winner would be determined solely by a professional jury, without any public vote. The jury was chaired by Luca De Gennaro, one of Italy’s most respected music critics. The full jury panel included:
- Roberto Sergio – Director General of San Marino RTV
- Federica Gentile – Radio and TV host
- Ema Stokholma – TV presenter, radio host, and author (French-Italian)
- Mario Andrea Ettore – Marketing Director of SIAE (Italian Society of Authors and Publishers)
A possible introduction of televoting in the 2026 edition was also hinted at during the event.
San Marino’s recent Eurovision history
San Marino has struggled in recent years despite high expectations. Under the former Una Voce Per San Marinoselection format, results have been disappointing:
- 2022: Achille Lauro finished 14th in the semi-final.
- 2023: Piqued Jacks placed last with 0 points, marking San Marino’s worst-ever Eurovision result.
- 2024: Spanish rock band Megara represented San Marino with “11:11” but finished 14th in the semi-final with only 16 points.
With Gabry Ponte’s mainstream appeal and dancefloor anthem, San Marino hopes to turn the tide and achieve its best result at Eurovision 2025 in Basel.
