La Zarra, the French 2023 representative, will have a stunning performance, we are sure of that, and the French Head of Delegation, Alexandra Redde-Amiel, also disclosed some of the plans that France has for its performance.
What we know…
What we know so far, coming from an interview that the French Head of Delegation had during a podcast, is that the performance will “entail all of La Zarra’s traits”. This means that La Zarra can show of both her Lady Gaga pop-side, but also her French chanson-side during her performance on the grand Eurovision stage. The French Head of Delegation also mentioned that there will be a “prop” on stage, but what that prop is was not disclosed yet, and apparently there is something that will happen with this prop. Next to this, there was said that La Zarra will probably perform alone on-stage, because she is an iconic diva that attracts enough attention already, so there is no need for others to be with her while she performs on-stage.
About La Zarra
La Zarra is born in French-speaking Canada, and has Canadian as well as Moroccan roots. This performer was internally chosen by a French commission, which did not happen anymore since 2021. La Zarra had a huge hit in France with the single “Tu t’en iras” in 2022, and because of this managed to come into the picture of the French Eurovision selection commission. In the Grand Final La Zarra will sing the song “Évidemment”.
Eurovision 2023
France is part of the Big Five countries, and because of this La Zarra will immediately perform in the Grand Final on May 13th 2023.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place on May 9th, 11th, and 13th 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom. 37 countries will compete for the crown. This year’s Eurovision Song Contest will be a joint venture, since last year’s winner Ukraine cannot organize the contest on home soil because of the ongoing war with Russia.
