Lithuania has just selected the first three acts that will perform at the grand final of the 2018 national final on March 11, thus they will have the big and ultimate chance to represent the nation in May!
The first semifinal of the Lithuanian national selection for Eurovision “Eurovizijos Atranka” has just been aired. 7 of the pre-qualified candidates competed tonight for one of the three available spots in the grand final.
A special online vote extended a Lithuanian lifeline to 12 of the acts who’d lost out in the six Eurovizijos Atranka heats – and Greta Zazza (4484 votes) and Ruta Loop (3928 votes) emerged triumphantly. Greta took her song ‘Broken Shadows’ to the show tonight and Ruta will do it next week.
An equal combination of votes from a professional jury panel and the audience via SMS has decided that the following acts marked in bold should go through to the final:

- GeraiGerai & Silvija Pankūnaitė – More Than You Know
- Kotryna Juodzevičiūtė – That Girl
- The Roop – Yes I Do
- Godo – Fire Fountain
- Greta Zazza – Broken Shadows
- Jurgis Brūzga – 4Love
As in previous years, the Lithuanian national selection is made up of several rounds: pre-recorded shows (heats) as well as live shows (two semifinals and the grand final). The winner will be selected by a mix of a professional jury panel and televoting during a live finale that will be broadcast on March 11th.
The couple in charge of conducting the contest this year is made up by the male humorist Mantas Stonkus and the female TV presenter Ugne Skonsmanaite.
