Finland starts its way to Eurovision 2021

Finlandia has started officially today their artist selection for Eurovision 2021, with the opening of the application period for the Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu, Finland’s national selections, that celebrates this year it’s 10th edition.

This year’s song receptions has started this Tuesday, 1st of September, and will finish next Monday the 7th of September at 23:59h. The songs application can be sent on yle.fi/umk, where the rules of the competition can be found in the Finish, Swedish and English.

The finalists that will fight to be Finland’s artist in Rotterdam in May of 2021 will be presented to the public during January, and the grand final of the UMK 2021 will take place in Tampere on February 20th, and can be watched in Yle TV1 and Yle Areena.

UMK TROPHY’S DESING CONTEST

As part of the celebrations of the UMK’s 10th edition, is also taking place a contest to design the UMK’s trophy, that will be open until next Monday, September 7th. The winner trophy of this contest will be given to the winner of 2021’s edition of the UMK.

Is an open contest for all public, where an illustrative plan of the award must be sent with an estimation of the production cost of the trophy.

A professional jury will decide the finalists of the contest, and the public will vote the winner between the jury’s finalists. These contest finalists will be presented during this autumn and the winner design at the beginning of 2021. The winner will also receive a 3000 euros prize.
