The Spanish National Broadcaster, RTVE, has stated that the country’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest of 2022 cost somewhat less than 680,000 euro. The actual costs were 668,792.60 euro.
The most expensive Spanish participation
This means that Spain’s 2022 participation was the most expensive Spanish participation in 10 years. In 2021 Spanish RTVE spent just under 200.000 euro to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest.
The costs of Chanel’s act
Spain spent 24,700 on the staging of Chanel’s act, and 18,029 euro on the costumes of this year’s Spanish performers. Next to this, the prices to fund the contest and to obtain the broadcast rights were approximately 302,150 euro.
Spain’s Eurovision 2022 run
Spanish Chanel’s “SloMo’ finished 3rd in Turin (Italy), and resulted in Spain’s best result in 27 years, when Annabel Conde sang “Vuelve Conmigo” in Dublin (Ireland) and finished in 2nd place.
