Eurojury: Latvia Calling

From this years host nation we head to the Baltic nation of Latvia. Latvia are represented this year by Aminata and her song “Love Injected”. Latvia will be hoping to qualify for the final for the first time since the 2008 contest in Belgrade.

Latvia debuted in Eurovision in 2000 with Brainstorm and their song “My Star”. Latvia won the contest in 2002 with the song “I Wanna” by Marie N, she scored a total of 176 points, 12 points ahead of second place Malta. In recent years Latvia has not been so successful, they have finished last in their semi final on four occasions. In Copenhagen their 13th place finish in the semi finals was their best result since 2008.

On the Latvian Eurojury today is Rihards Bērziņš. Rihards participated in Supernova 2015 the Latvian selection process. He managed to make it to the semi final stage of the competition with the song “Your Eyes”.
